Apple or Pear cake
3 to 4 pears or apples
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 t vanilla
1 cup flour
some rind of lemon
walnuts and/or raisins (optional)
Preheat 350 F.
Slice and core apples/pears with Ludwig Apple/Pear Slicer Corer.
Lay in buttered pie or cake form (11 inches), with flat side down.
Melt butter and let cool.
Beat eggs a bit then add sugar and beat until pale.
Blend in flour and at last add butter, lemon rind, and walnuts/raisins if desired.
Pour batter over fruit leaving some bare places over the colorful part of the fruit.
(Sprinkle some lemon rind over the dough to make it look interesting)
Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or until cake is brown and starts to leave side of pan.
Serve with vanilla yogurt or whipped cream.
